HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR KNIT

Good knitwear is made to stay in your wardrobe. The more you wear it, the more it becomes yours – and the right care helps it stay soft, beautiful and in shape.

Because it doesn't take much. Just a few simple things to know, and your fave knits will remain in your rotation, season after season.

    WASH

    • Wash less, wear often. Wool has self-cleaning properties.
    • Mostly, it's enough to air out your knit overnight.
    • Only hand wash your knitwear with cold water and a gentle wool detergent.
    • Note: while some sources may suggest machine washing knitwear, hand washing is safest to preserve the fibers.
    • If you absolutely have to use the machine, make sure to use a laundry bag or pillowcase and the gentlest cycle.




    DRY

    • Proper drying is key to maintaining the quality and shape.
    • Never wring or hang-dry knitwear, as this can stretch the fibers.
    • Lay the knit flat on a dry towel or drying rack to air dry.
    • Avoid placing it near heaters or in the sun, as too much heat can shrink and damage the fibers.

    CARE

    • Pilling is normal and cannot be fully prevented. It's a sign of high-quality natural fibers.
    • Minimize pilling by reducing friction from bags and belts.
    • Removing pilling by gently plucking it by hand or using a special wool comb to gently comb out the knot – but be careful with fabric shavers as they may damage the material.
    • If a thread pulls loose, use a crochet hook to pull it to the back and secure it with a knot. Avoid cutting the thread, as this can create a hole.




    STORE

    • To prevent stretching, store your knitwear flat in a drawer or on a shelf, and avoid clothing hangers.
    • Leave some space between them, as tightly packed garments can attract moths.
